Education Solution Exploration Made Simple
With 2% of humans working in education that means 160 million people on this planet are exploring better ways to engage students in learning in order to help them succeed. That’s an enormous amount of time and energy spent finding ways to improve education.
The good news is that the education industry is a vast universe of amazing curriculum, EdTech, operational solutions each with their own unique way of improving how schools function, transforming teaching and learning, and improving student outcomes. One quick stroll down the wondrous isles of EDUCAUSE, ISTE, SXSW EDU, and other education conferences is such a thrill.
The bad news is that with so many amazing providers and innovators it can feel overwhelming, if not hopeless, trying to make sense of it all.
This is why the Galixi Taxonomy of Education Solutions was created. "Galixi Taxonomy" (for short) brings clarity to the education industry with a new open source taxonomy that classifies education solutions.
The benefits of referencing this taxonomy include into school's solution evaluations include:
- Improved decision making - Identifying the solutions best suited for a particular need saves time and money by avoiding solutions that are inappropriate for their organization.
- Increased Efficiency - Quickly identify what solutions to consider and exclude.
- Cost Savings - Quickly narrowing options helps scarce funds stretch further.
- Smoother Implementations - Shortlisting the right solutions frees energy and resources into planning a successful solution implementation.
- Improved Student Outcomes - Ultimately, implementing the right solutions helps us help students.
- Clarity for Job Seekers - Career explorers can refine the list of organizations they would be most attracted to.
The work to build the Galixi Taxonomy began with Holon IQ’s impressive work to create their original taxonomy called the 2021 Global Learning Landscape. Go check it out. They gifted their taxonomy to the public domain under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Thanks Holon IQ!
Galixi Taxonomy narrows its scope to helping K-12, Higher Education, and workforce planning decision makers, their solution evaluation teams, and EdTech career explorers. With the help of the Galixi Taxonomy's classification of 34 solution clusters across 8 solution categories EdTech career explorers can easily narrow their job search, and school solution evaluation teams can quickly identify what products and services should be considered, evaluated, purchased, and integrated that align with institution's critical priorities.
We liked the idea of also paying it forward and gifting the Galixi Taxonomy into the public domain under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Read more about the Galixi Taxonomy here.
